How To Lower Cortisol With Your Diet
The Link between cortisol and our diet
Stress is not just caused by external circumstances. What, and how, we’re eating can also cause a lot of stress on our bodies.
Lower cortisol (stress hormone) means less inflammation, disease, fatigue, brain fog, and GI issues - to name a few.
Here are some tips to help lower cortisol in our bodies with our eating choices and habits:
- Eliminate all processed foods.
- Eat within 1 hour of waking up.
- Space meals a few hours apart.
- Don’t snack before bed. Snack from dinner until breakfast.
- Eat regular meals, especially breakfast. Don’t skip meals.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Make sure you’re getting plenty of Omega-3’s, both in your diet and in supplement form.
- Meals should include: protein, fiber, healthy carbs & healthy fats.
- Eat a colorful diet.
